My name is Jane Ecob and I provide a convenient service in your own home (or office) to certain parts of North-West Kent – do check below if I cover your area or not.
I will listen to your requirements and where necessary offer advice and suggestions using my expertise and knowledge.
Pretty much anything can be done within reason and I am used to dealing with wedding dresses that a lot of other people have been unable or unwilling to deal with – especially when it comes to dealing with unusual or expensive fabrics.
You will definitely have fun working with me as I like to take any stress away and create a relaxed, fun experience as I understand just how stressful organising everything else can be!

Over 30 Years of Profession Experience
From 17 I served my apprenticeship to become a professional seamstress & dressmaker, learning how to sew, pattern, cut and grade.
In the last 35 years I have worked on thousands of wedding dresses, bridesmaid’s dresses, mother of the bride outfits, suits, waistcoats, designer dresses, trousers, cravats, prom dresses and evening wear.
As well as my private clients I currently work for three very well-regarded wedding dress shops in Surrey, fitting, adjusting and altering the dresses so a bride’s day is stress free.
Areas Covered in Kent
Although I am based in Dorking, Surrey I do sometimes cover the northern part of Kent which includes the towns of Westerham, Sevenoaks and Edenbridge.
Areas Not Covered in Kent
Regrettably if you are outside of the area mentioned above you would be too far for me to travel to your home – however, I can recommend the services of Anne who I work with and you are in very safe hands with her.
She has over 30 years experience and can design and make original hand sewn gowns, dresses, skirts, blouses etc or she can simply adjust and alter your wedding dress to get your perfect fit for your big day.

Wedding Dresses/Bridesmaids Prices & Costs
Prices will vary depending on styles, fabrics, how many items you have to be fixed as well as how complicated the work will be as well as your distance from Dorking as I will need to come see you on two occasions for fittings.
This is my speciality and every day I am working on different types of wedding dresses.
If you have a plain bodice wedding dress with a simple straight skirt pricing would be from £295. If you have a more complex full circle wedding dress with several layers that would be priced accordingly.
Lace dresses are more complex and time-consuming, there are many different factors to consider, some have lace on the bodice but have a more simple skirt, others may have lace all over, lace edging at the hem line and some also have sleeves. Typically these are between £375 up to £495. Each dress is wonderful and unique and will be priced individually depending on what you require.
Bridesmaids from £70 for hem and side seams alterations. I’m not currently taking on any made to measures as I am full for the foreseeable future.
